ABOUT US
MISSION
The Malérargues Endowment Fund exists to acquire and permanently protect the Château de Malérargues — by transferring ownership from private individuals into the care of the Endowment Fund — ensuring it remains a dedicated site where people can continue to work on the embodied voice, imagination and soul.
Our purpose is to finance cultural, artistic and anthropological activities related to the human voice through sponsorship and donations.
We are committed to promoting, protecting, and transmitting the artistic and intellectual heritage of Alfred Wolfsohn, Roy Hart and the Roy Hart Theatre — while actively supporting its evolution in all its current diversity and future influence. This means funding residencies, performances, research projects, training activities and archival work, and supporting the Roy Hart Voice Centre and other organisations who share our mission.
VISION
Our vision is for the ensured safeguarding and continuity of the cultural, educational, and artistic legacy of Alfred Wolfsohn, Roy Hart and the Roy Hart Theatre for future generations.
GOVERNANCE
The Malérargues Endowment Fund is stewarded by a Board of Directors drawn in part from its founding community and renewed over time to ensure continuity, diversity of perspectives and long-term vision.
The Board defines the Fund’s strategic direction, oversees its activities and finances, and ensures that its mission as organization serving the public interest is upheld (as defined under Article 200/238 bis of the French Tax Code).
An Executive Committee—comprising a President, Secretary and Treasurer—implements the Board’s decisions and manages day-to-day operations.
Governance is based on principles of transparency, collective decision-making and disinterested management, in accordance with French law governing endowment funds.
This governance model reflects the values at the heart of Malérargues: shared responsibility, transparency and a deep commitment to transmitting a unique legacy into the future.

TRANSPARENCY & REPORTING
The Malérargues Endowment Fund is committed to transparent and responsible governance. In accordance with its statutes and French law, the Fund prepares annual activity and financial reports, maintains clear records of donations and supported initiatives, and submits the required documentation to the relevant administrative authorities. Its accounts are reviewed by an independent auditor when legally required, ensuring that resources are managed with rigour, integrity and in full alignment with the Fund’s mission of general public interest.
“Many people have dedicated their entire lives to this crucial project for humanity: in twenty years, I hope that Malerargues will still be a place where people can work authentically on their voice, their emotions and their soul.”
